Founded in 1948, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. Representing more than 250,000 members in over 140 countries, the Society serves the needs of HR professionals and advances the interests of the HR profession. 


Genesee Valley Chapter of SHRM (GVCSHRM)

The Genesee Valley Chapter of SHRM (GVCSHRM) is an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management.  Almost 500 members strong, the chapter includes members from the nine-county Greater Rochester, NY region. GVCSHRM sponsors monthly programming that is relevant and timely for HR professionals, and most programs are pre-approved by HRCI for PHR/SPHR/GPHR recertification credits. 


National Human Resources Association (NHRA)

Established in 1951, The National Human Resources Association (NHRA) is focused on advancing the individual career development, planning and leadership of human resource (HR) professionals. The Rochester Affiliate of NHRA provides an active forum for the exchange of information and ideas related to Human Resources. In addition to the advantages of national membership, Rochester Affiliate members enjoy quality monthly programs and a supportive environment for networking, professional development, and community involvement.  NHRA–Rochester also has an active local job posting system.
